Due before class (6:00pm): (03/17/25)
A "Work in Progress" (WIP) assignment in digital sculpting refers to an intermediate stage of a sculpting project where you present your ongoing work before reaching the final completed piece.
In a WIP assignment, you are required to share your progress, demonstrate your sculpting skills, and receive feedback from your instructors or peers to refine your work further.
This WIP serves as a foundational step in the asset creation process designed to assess your ability to accurately translate 2D concept art into 3D form through what we refer to as the Block-in process.
You will focus on creating all BASE GEOMETRY and form for the NERF Gun represented in the 2D concept art while maintaining alignment with proportions, silhouette, and overall aesthetic. NERF Guns can be composed of several parts, study and consider how to break those down from your reference. Minimally, these Primary Shapes are what I am looking for. Remember, that the next deliverable is a refinement of these shapes. So, I will always encourage working on and constantly progressing your projects until the Final is DUE. Extra time now on one single subtool, is one less thing you have to work on for the next deliverable. Always, think ahead and have a plan.
Include your name in the post!
Answer these questions: 1. Did you take any time to research and learn more about ZModeler? 2. If so, what is something you learned about ZModeler that I have not yet covered in class or that you want me to cover more in class?
