    St. Ignatius Church

    Architecture: Medieval Baroque

    Year Built: 1725

    Show: Game of Thrones

Significance: The Great Sept of Baelor is the center of worship and the location of all significant religious activities in King’s Landing. Edward Stark made his confession to save his family on the steps of the church. King Baratheon visits the church to make plans for the royal wedding. Cersei’s Walk of Shame was down the steep steps of the Sept. The Great Sept of Baelor is the location of the court trials for crimes against the people and the kingdom. The Sept was destroyed during a trial by an individual (Cersei) that was scheduled to soon be on trial. The idea was if the Sept was destroyed while court was in session, then the ruling party would be destroyed as well.

        Style/Period: Late-Gothic

        Movie :Cinderella

        Time: 12th to 14th century

Significance: The Cinderella castle is late Gothic because of the pointed apex roofs, pointed arches and the stained glass if you watch the movie. The castle is based from Château de Chenonceau, a castle that is in the tiny village of Chenonceaux in the world-famous Loire Valley in France. This castle is significant for its Gothic style for this type of architecture is known to be very serious since it was during the time of religious strictness. Although in this case the animators made the Cinderella castle that way in order for changing the perspective of people and because of this Disney has not only changed the entertainment industry but as well it has changed architecture forever.

Game: Fire Emblem Colosseum/ smash bros ultimate

                Time:70–80 AD

Significance:This is significant for Nintendo wants to teach it's younger audience about famous landmarks. They teach this through the concrete, marble texture along with the consistency of arches. It also gives off this vibe of mythology since most famous roman legends were said to fight in the Colosseum. Nintendo wanted to have the idea of how the characters in the smash bros series are legendary.

                            Period/Style: Victorian second empire, U.S.A

                            Time: Late 19th century

                            Movie: The Addams Family

Significance: This is Victorian it is based on the second empire of the U.S.A. For it gives the impression of the house being a depressing castle. Along with that it contains a mansard roof, it contains 4 sloping slides. The creators of this film wanted to teach people that victorian is the stereotypical idea of a haunted house. We normally want the victorian house but in reality we want an Edwardian because Edwardian is more vibrant alongside spacious, while victorian is more depressed with less space.

                              Style: Modernism

                              Year: 1920-1970

                              Movie: A Clockwork Orange

Significance: A Clockwork orange tells the story of Alex, leader of a sadistic gang. The movie is set to take place in the future, hence the use of weird furniture, and the simplicity of some of the houses. The interiors, even after being asymmetrical, they are still mostly composed of simple shapes, giving it that simple, yet interesting look. Alex and his gang are the opposite of that, showing no interest in others, they only bring destruction and fear to those who cross their path.

                                Movie: Beetlejuice

Time: Late 19th century to early 20th century

Significance: The Beetlejuice house is modernism because of the simple geometric forms while it also emphasis of cleanliness. Additionally, it also seems to be a relationship with the inside of the house to the outside. The film producers made this in order to give the 1st impression of how this house doesn't seem to create harm neither is abnormal. But that change during the movie, creating the idea of how the most average of things can be the weirdest.
