Assignment Due IN CLASS on Monday (09/23)
Bring a printout (color or black and white) of your face reference, which you will be drawing in class on Monday AND Wednesday.
But SAVE your photo file, so that you can upload with your drawing later.
The big objective for tomorrow is that you know what a good reference is, which we started discussing on Wednesday.
Does it convey the ADJECTIVE that we’re looking to capture in our drawing? Can we tell what the emotion is that you’re looking to create the pareidolia to describe?
After that, is the reference a good reference to try to draw?
Adjective: DISGUSTED
After I’ve decided that this accurately captures DISGUSTED, it’s a matter of deciding if this is a good reference.
1) Can I see all the features without them being obscured by shadow (at this point let’s avoid shadows, we’ll incorporate them later in the semester)
2) Can we see the whole head? This is important for trying to capture the boundaries of the potato we’re going to peel.
