  • Spring 2025 | Character Asset Swap: High Poly

    You will be showcasing your High Poly character asset with polished, production-ready details that effectively translate the chosen 2D Concept Art into 3D. This stage emphasizes finalized sculpted surfaces from ZBrush and/or high poly models from Maya to be utilized as the source asset for the rest of the production. A thoughtful translation accurately representing the concept art guided by real-world references and game comparables is a must.

    Final Deliverables
    • Your final High Poly character asset(s) in its complete state.
      • ZTool or Maya File (.ztl or .ma/b)
    • High resolution renders showing various angles of your high poly assets (front, back, side, and key details).
      • Clean and mindful composition and/or layout is key
      • Every pixel, every picture matters
    Ensure that your High Poly model is clean - no wobbles, unless intentionally there as secondary or tertiary detail. I should not be able to see the individual polygons of your mesh i.e. low resolution Dynamesh. Subdivision levels are preferred.
    You need to utilize the references gathered from any of the 3D comparables that influenced your approach to stylization, shape language, and overall execution as you translated the piece into 3D. I will be looking closely to this a key factor of success.
