Sword | model
Objective:
Using your block-out as a base, refine and complete your sword model using subdivision (Sub-D) modeling techniques. Your finished model should include detailed shapes and smooth surfaces.
Instructions:
1. Set Up and Review Block-Out:
Open your previous block-out file of the sword.
Review the block-out to ensure each part (blade, guard, handle, and pommel) is accurately placed and scaled.
2. Subdivision Models:
Select each part of your sword and refine the parts for a smooth, detailed look. Refine edges and add edge loops where necessary to maintain form and detail.
3. Modeling Details:
Blade: Sharpen the edges and adjust proportions. Add any necessary details, such as fuller grooves or bevels along the edge.
Guard: Shape the guard, paying attention to rounded edges or any specific design.
Handle: Create any grip detail, ensuring it smoothly transitions from the guard.
Pommel: Refine the pommel, to define its shape and smooth any rounded areas.
4. Final Touches:
Ensure all parts are smoothly integrated and visually cohesive.
Check for an even distribution of edge loops and any unnecessary geometry.
5. Save and Submit:
Save your model as "Sword_Final_[YourName].mb".
Take a screenshot of the completed model and post it along with the reference image
Submission:
Take a screenshot of your completed sword and submit it to the forums along with a reference image of the same sword angle.
