Assignment Requirements
1. Asset Completion
- Finalize your chosen assets (pipe kit, columns, light fixtures, crates, or barrels)
- All assets must be fully textured with appropriate materials
- Assets should demonstrate proper optimization for game environments
- Import all finalized assets into Unreal Engine
- Set up proper materials for all assets within the engine
- Arrange your assets in your Zoo map to showcases their modularity
- Design and create a simple decal texture (examples: warning labels, wear marks, graffiti, signage)
- Set up a functional decal material in Unreal Engine
- Apply your decal appropriately within your scene to enhance visual storytelling
- Demonstrate proper decal placement, scale, and integration with existing materials
- Capture screenshots of your textured assets in Unreal Engine
- Capture screenshots of your decal implemented into your scene
Submission Guidelines
Required Screenshots:
- Screenshot 1: Close-up renders of each textured modular asset in Unreal Engine
- Screenshot 2: Wide shot of your complete modular set arranged in the Zoo map
- Screenshot 3: Before/after comparison showing your scene with and without decal implementation
- Screenshot 4: Close-up of your decal application showing detail and integration with underlying surfaces
Peer Feedback Requirement
- Provide constructive feedback to two classmates on their completed submissions
- Your critique must include:
- Comments on the effectiveness of their texturing approach
- Assessment of how well their assets work as a modular system
- Feedback on their decal implementation and integration
- One specific suggestion for improvement
