You can use the grid to help you draw anything
Assignment due Wednesday for class: take a reference photo of either yourself or a friend or a family member that is a human. Clothing and costume design can be however you want, but put some thought into it.
The minimum ask is that the silhouette’s outline must be complete, with all four points clearly visible, so no cropping. Standing where you can see the feet, maybe even jumping in midair. Further in the ask is thinking dynamism, and the opposite of default. Don’t just have your arms out by your sides, point them towards the camera or away. Think twisting and bending the torso. Do the best you can.
Design the outfit, design the pose. The two ways to improve your drawing skills is in the design that’s composed in your head, and the technical skills of drawing that composition out onto the paper. Let’s do the design IRL as the kids say. I’m looking for a dynamic image of a person that you are going to draw. Make sure that the elements are clearly legible, nothing too dark or blurred that you can’t see any details.
Post the image here as soon as possible so I can show you where there might be areas of concern or ambiguity if there are any. I know I said I’d print them but I decided that actually no, you can go ahead and print them yourself. Make sure that the print is clear and bright enough for you to make everything out. (If you CAN’T because you don’t have a printer or can’t use school resources or FedEx, then tell me why along with your image posted here.)
