Think you got game? We’re looking for a dynamic, detailed-oriented intern to assist in day-to-day content creation and maintenance for Spurs, Sports & Entertainment interactive properties: spurs.com, sasilverstars.com, sarampage.com, austintoros.com, attcenter.com and the associated mobile and social networking properties. This position will work across different parts of the organization, so we need a real go-getter with great communication skills and interactive talent to match.
Job Functions
* Develops and edits online content for all franchise team sites with HTML/CSS.
* Develops and edits graphics using Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator for all franchise team sites.
* Develops, edits and publishes digital video content.
* Provides as needed maintenance on spurs.com, sarampage.com, sasilverstars.com, austintoros.com and attcenter.com as well as other mobile and social network properties.
* Helps update appropriate content calendars across franchise team sites.
* Helps track down and report appropriate web site analytics in a timely manner.
* Assists with Spurs, Rampage and Silver Stars game night coverage.
* Attends team practices and other non-game events to collect online materials (video footage, player quotes, features, breaking news, etc).
* Researches other teams/industries’ best practices (i.e. subscribing to other email newsletters, tracking best of design elements from other sites, etc.), to keep up with the latest technology and design.
* Performs additional duties as assigned by the Senior Director of New Media and Interactive Marketing.
Qualifications
Internship Requirements
* Must be a Junior or Senior in College or working on your Master’s.
* Internship must be associated with students major, minor or concentration.
* Must be using the internship towards class credit.
The internship is for 20 hours a week and pays $570 a month.
Ability to work full season (Oct – July) including some nights and weekends.
* Knowledge of HTML/CSS, Javascript, Flash and other programming languages. Must be familiar with WYSIWYG HTML editors such as Dreamweaver and image editing programs such as Photoshop.
* Experience in digital video and image editing required.
* Highly organized with great attention to detail.
* Journalism/writing/editing experience necessary.
* Working knowledge of blogging, RSS and mobile web preferred.
* High degree of creativity and outside-the-box thinking preferred.
Education
* Attending four-year college/university.
* Working toward Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Web Design, Graphic Design or IT degree.
