  • Fall 2024 | Golem WIP 03 Polish

    Due before class (6:00pm): (10/07/24)

A "Work in Progress" (WIP) assignment in digital sculpting refers to an intermediate stage of a sculpting project where you present your ongoing work before reaching the final completed piece.

In a WIP assignment, you are required to share your progress, demonstrate your sculpting skills, and receive feedback from your instructors or peers to refine your work further.

For this WIP I will assess your ability to create a production ready model readying the model for tertiary and final details. I will be looking for clean topology and polished Subtools. I will expect you to utilize all the techniques/tools covered in class for Organic and Hard Surface modeling now including ZRemesh / Subdivisions and Subdivision levels / Projecting.

Overall, we are moving our sculptures from a messy Dynamesh topology to a cleaner ZRemeshed topology that has been Subdivided and all the previous details projected on to it.

Include your name in the post!

Answer this question: What of my feedback, for GOLEM WIP 2, did you incorporate and work on for WIP 3? Be specific.

    Deliverables:
    • An Image of your 2D Concept Art Reference (.png)
    • Turnaround Renders:
      • You are uploading your compiled Photoshop renders utilizing BPR from ZBrush posted directly inline of your UIW3D Forums post. (.png)
      • Minimum Views (Front, ¾ front, Side, ¾ Back views)

I tried to sharpen the edges for the rocks, however, I still feel like they are rounded. I tried to work on the rock details, but I feel like they still need work. I have yet to work on fixing measurements.

I focused on improving the tertiary detail on the body (added more rock detail) and made the golem's parts into projected geo

I tried fixing the shapes I created to make them more accurate to the concept art, though there are still a few that I need to correct further

I have been trying to make the golem look less soft and make it look more like a rock by doing sharper edges.

I focused on adding the rocky texture to the body and I added eyes and a mouth, but I still need to work on adding the greenery.

I was focusing on the proportions and hollowing out the body.
