Objective:
Prepare and submit the final version of your modular hallway project, ensuring all components are complete, modular, and organized. The scene must be based on realism, with materials and lighting that mimic real-life properties. All parts must be constructed to professional standards, adhering to modularity and technical precision.
Submission Requirements
1. Images
- Unreal Engine: Submit three images from each section of your hallway (straight, corner, and curved) captured in Unreal Engine.
- Unity: Submit three images from each section of your hallway (straight, corner, and curved) captured in Unity.
- Zoo Map: Submit one image of your zoo map with all modular parts laid out and clearly visible.
- Modular Construction:
- All parts must be made in a proper modular fashion to ensure seamless assembly.
- Modular components should fit together perfectly without gaps or misalignments.
- Modeling:
- Objects must be modeled to a high standard, with proper edge flow and no ngons (non-planar faces).
- UV Layout:
- UVs must be laid out with no stretching or overlapping.
- Optimize UV space efficiently while maintaining proper proportions.
- Textures:
- Textures must use the correct resolution for the asset type and maintain high-quality detail.
- Assets must visually match their reference counterparts with realistic materials and surface details.
- Lighting must replicate the behavior of real-world light sources, including realistic shadows, reflections, and color temperature.
- Use lighting to enhance the mood and visual clarity of your scene while maintaining realism.
Share your hallway folder, organized with the following subfolders:
- Maya Project Folder:
- Include only the final version of your Maya scene file in the Scenes folder, containing all meshes used in your hallway level.
- Delete any unused files or assets from the project folder.
- Assets Folder:
- Include the final Substance Painter files.
- Provide FBX files for all meshes used in your hallway level.
- Include final texture files prepared for both Unreal Engine and Unity.
- Images Folder:
- Place the screenshots taken from Unreal Engine and Unity in this folder.
- Unreal Project:
- Include a zipped version of your final Unreal project.
- Unity Project:
- Include a zipped version of your final Unity project.
Grading Criteria
- Modularity:
- Components fit together seamlessly and adhere to proper modular construction standards.
- Modeling Quality:
- High-quality geometry with no ngons and proper edge flow.
- UV and Textures:
- UVs are properly laid out with no stretching or overlapping.
- Textures are high resolution and visually identical to their reference counterparts.
- Realism:
- Materials mimic real-life properties.
- Lighting behaves realistically, with proper shadows and reflections.
- Visual Quality:
- Screenshots demonstrate high-quality visuals, composition, and lighting.
- Organization:
- Proper structure and inclusion of all required files in the hallway folder.
- Completeness:
- Submission includes all required images, assets, and zipped project files, fully functional and well-presented.
Important Notes
- Label all files and folders clearly and appropriately.
- Unclear, incomplete, or disorganized submissions will result in grade deductions.
