  • Exercise #17 Walk Cleanup

    Jessie_FixFile2.mb

Find the mistakes in this walk cycle and fix them in the Maya file.

Adjust the poses on the keyframes that are already provided.

Make a list of the fixes and post them on this thread.
Be sure to include the frame # in your list.

Hint: There are around 10 obvious mistakes in the walk.

Post a gif of the polished walk and post your list.

    Jesse got some issues:
    1. Upper Body is not translated over the planted foot
    2. Frame 9 is too low, should be more up
    3. Not enough hip tilt in frame 9 and 17???
    4. Foot should be planted at frame 17
    5. Teenie bit more overlap in the down position
    6. Extend the right arm at frame 6 can stop it from going though the body
    7. Add more overlap in the hands in frame 6
    8. Make the hand drag even when in front of the body like frame 12 for examples to get a decent flip of drag
    9. I did add a frame on the right hand on 7 to drag the hand more
    10. Bend the left arm on the contact poses in the front so, she kinda doesn't look like she going to sock someone in the face (she really does look like she was gonna hit someone with her arms ._. )
    11. Maybe add some Ball Twist to tilt the foot in passing pose

Frames 12-23 the leg clipped through her
frame 17, leg shift was off
hips on frames 1 and 24 need to be right
frame 6 left art needs to be spread out more to avoid clipping
on frames 6 and 17, the raised leg needs to be higher and pushed farther away
            the back was all twisted
the elbows needed to be stretched out more on frames 1,24, and 12
body needs to go opposite of hips during whole animation
up position didn't use the root control to move up
weight shift needs to be added

              Frame 1/24: Emphasize chest/hip tilt
Frame 6/17: Adjust passing poses to include more height increase
Frame 9/20: Add more height above ground to feet
Frame 17: Delete excess keyframe for hand

                  Problems Found:
-Wrong Hip & Torso rotation on Frame 1?
-Body doesn’t really translate down or up the following poses: down, passing, or up.
-Left Arm feels over-extended on Frame 1 and 24
-Left arm clips through the torso/hips on Frame 9
-Hip is too rotated on Frame 12, causing it to become separated from the torso.
-Wrong rotation on 12, as well.
-Foot should be planted on Frame 17
                  - Left foot clipping through the grid on Frame 17
-Right foot clips through the left leg on Frame 17

                    Mistakes in animation :

The left arm phases through her body
The left arm isn't animated in the beginning
On frame 12 left foot is not pointing up
Frame 17 the two feet mesh together
                    No real waist rotation
Frame 6no real rotation on left foot
                    Not much shoulder rotation
Frame 6 right arm is to straight
                    Its to fast
It doesn't go up and down like
                    Wrong weight shift
