    Period/Style:Pre-Columbian

    Movie: The Simpsons

    Time: 1450

Significance: In the Simpsons, Homer and his family go to Macchu Pichu. The creators wanted to embrace the incan culture on how small and simple it were. They were not aggresive like the Aztecs, but instead they were focused with farming. The fact they showed a lot of fields and ruined statues gives the audience an idea of what it is. Additionally, the main focus of perspective is on the mountain itself which is the thing that makes Machu Picchu

      Style: Mid Century Modern

      Time: 1970s

      TV series: The Brady Bunch

Significance: This house is home to the brady bunch family and acts as a safe place to allow for growth. Often times the children will get into arguments over simple things but in the end they always forgive and grow as a person. It's a Mid Century Modern house that looks trendy for the time back then. The writers picked this house because it was stated that it looked like the type of house an architect would design, and in the series the architect in the family is Mike Brady.

        Period/ Style: Federal Neoclassical

        Movie: Family Guy

        Time: 1792

Significance: As many know Family Guy is a parody of International politics. The creators used Neoclassical federal elements of architecture in order to parody how ethnocentric the U.S.A is. For the strong pillars symbolizes how the U.S.A is strong in original traditions, despite the events going on at time. It gives the impression of the U.S.A being a republic

Style: Egyptian, Great Pyramid of Giza

          Time: 2570 - 2500 BC

          Movie: Despicable Me

Significance: The opening shot of the movie shows the pyramid of giza with tourists doing some sightseeing. But in reality the pyramid was stolen by Vector. Once it became known that the pyramid was missing, it set the stage for Gru to try and outdo the upcoming Villian. By doing so, he set his sights bigger and plotted to steal the moon.
