    6. Each screenshot should indicate why that particular piece/room/building was used by the designers of the game/movie at that particular time. Chrysler Building

    Style: Art Deco

    Year Finished: 1930 AD

    Game: Spider-Man (PS4)

Signifigance: The Spider-Man mythos takes place in New York City, the heart of the Marvel Universe itself, the developers would create landmarks like these from the actual buildings in their recreation of New York city for players to find when they are exploring. The Chrysler Building is one of two of the historical skyscrapers the player will find and in greater detail than in previous games.

      Empire State Building

      Style: Art Deco

      Year Finished: 1931 AD

      Game: Spider-Man (PS4)

Signifigance: It would not be New York City, the home city of Spider-Man himself if it did not have this great historical landmark. The Empire State Building has been one of it’s greater symbols in New York ever since it’s completion in 1931. Without this famous wonder, it just wouldn’t be New York City, now would it?

        Trinity Church

        Style: Gothic Revival

        Date Completed: 1846 AD

        Game: Spider-Man (PS4)

Significance: In Insomniac’s New York, you have buildings that reach out to the sky, and then you have the smaller, but definetly memorable buildings and churches when you look lower. Trinity Church is one of the many famous churches you could find in the game. The Developers wanted the player to explore New York city in both high and low places, and looking at the lower places you find beautiful buildings like the one seen here.

          The Parthenon

          Style: Greek

          Date Completed: 432 BC

          Game: Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Signifigance: In the story of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, this was the passion project of Athens, especially important to Perikles, who wanted to finish it for the Athenian people, even in troubled times during the war with Sparta. It would lated be the last spot of his doom when, during a plague in Athens caused by the Cult of Kosmos, he visited the Parthenon to pray to Athena, where he met his final fate to Deimos, the Cult’s assassin, at the place where he heart was being poured into finishing.

            Temple of Zeus in Olympia

            Style: Greek

            Date Completed: 457 BC

            Game: Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Signifigance: There are many temples in the Greek worlds, each dedicated to an individual God in the Greek Pantheon. But one of the more Signifigant ones is the Temple of Zeus located in Olympia, home place of the Olympics. It is important in games like the Assassin’s Creed series to show historical life beyond just the actual gameplay, and here, is an example of life during Ancient Greece where priests and citizens go to visit and worship the statue of Zeus, the king of the gods, for good favor in the future.

              Athena Parthenos
Style: This is the Ancient Greek

Year: Sculpted by Greek sculptor Phidias around 447 BC.

Game: It's from the game Assassins Creed: Odyssey

Significance: *Spoilers for AC:Odyssey* This is significant because this is the sight of the final moments of Perikles in game. He states that he wishes to go there on final time in order to save appease the gods to save Athens. Only to have him be killed in the very place he worked so hard for; in his words "his greatest legacy to Athens".

                  City of Memphis
Style: This is the Ancient Egyptian

Year: Founded earlier than 31st Century BC and abandoned in 7th century AD

                  Game: Assassin's Creed: Origins

Significance: Memphis was a thriving center of commerce and religion in ancient Egypt, and was believed to be protected by the god Ptah. Though Memphis' glory didn't last very long especially with the rise of Alexandria, along with the decrease in religious significance as the old gods had been abandoned. During the game Bayek goes to Memphis several times and you see the city as it is beginning to lose it's importance as a major city.

                    Pantheon (Paris)
                    Year: 1755 - 1790 AD
                    Style: Neoclassicism
                    Game: Assassin's Creed Unity
Significance: In Assassin's Creed Unity, a group of assassin's were tasked with retrieving assassin relics that lie beneath the pantheon in the crypt of Mirabeau, a leader of the french revolution in its early stages, before the templars or angry civilians got to them. His ashes were retrieved too, which is significant because today the Pantheon stores the bodies of France's most honorable people live Voltaire and Marie Curie, meaning he is viewed as a hero to the french people.

                      Monument of Militiades

                      Style: Ancient Greek

                      Year: 465 BCE

                      Game: Assassin's Creed: Odyssey

Significance: These statues commemorate the Battle of Marathon which occurred in 490 BCE. In the game however it among other statues is seen as a gift due to the oracles presence, as a way of thanking the Pythia for her guidance and prophecies. Though not too long after Kassandra/Alexios visit the statues and meet the Oracle do they realize that she and many other oracles before her have been corrupted and given false prophecies in order to serve the Cult of Kosmos.

                            Game: Assassin's Creed II

Significance: This church resides in Ezio Auditore's home city of Florence (aka Firenze). Duomo has been a factor to Ezio's story in three important points. The First was during the Pazzi Conspiracy where the Pazzie family would attempt a mass assassination of the Medici family in order to secure influence in Florence for the Templars, to which Ezio has prevented, the Second factor has been when Ezio explored the hidden tunnels under the church in order to find the Tomb of the Assassin who has slain Alexander the Great. The final part was during the Bonfire of the Vanities, where Ezio when towards the Cathedral itself to Assassinate one of Savonarola's lieutenants. It is kind of funny, a church as holy as this has seen much bloodshed in the course of the game.

significance: The templar Marie Levesque hoarded large amounts of grain to brew discontent between the citizens and the royal family by showing that they have been hiding food from them in a time of need. She was assassinated before she could execute her plan, but it goes to show how much the citizens hated the royal family during the french revolution. The palace was turned into the national prison where that stored high profile people before there executions by guillotine and later handed to the French Senate by Napoleon who still occupy the space to this day.
