On Blackboard you mentioned I need to use bigger texture resolutions (I've been using 512x512 because most photos I find are large but not large enough for clear images of detailed areas); what can I do about this? I also struggle with making renders look better because of harsh lighting (this building was super weird about lighting since it's such an enclosed space). I'm not too familiar with certain renderers other than Mental Ray, which I haven't been using because it takes a while to render things with it

That's certainly part of the challenge - finding images big enough to get the right texture sources. But bigger images will yield higher res textures which (unless tiled) are needed for good output.
VRay and Mental Ray are both good renderers; and both would work well with an enclosed area with a strong light. Post your .mb (the entire project file would be better) and I'll set up a quick example lighting scheme and send it back. You can break stuff down from there.
Also remember we have a paid tutor here Fridays and Sundays who should be able to help get you up and going on Vray - or even help with MentalRay.Last edited by Professor Watkins; October 5, 2018, 16:43.

santandrea_textured_016.ma Here's the latest version of my model; for some reason the actual ceiling textures went missing, I guess they're on my laptop

Here's a quick (20 minute) VRay setup:
The .ma file is here:santandrea_textured_015_VRay.ma. Just put it back into your scenes>Project 3 SantAndrea folder; and on a machine with VRay you could see the setup.
