  • Depth of Field Tips for Maya

    1) Create Camera
    2) Create Locator
    3) Select Camera, activate Depth of Field. Then, click the checkbox next to Focus Distance.
    4) In Create Node window, select Utilities, and add "distanceBetween" node
    5) Open Connection Editor (Window>General Editors>Connection Editor).
    6) Select Camera and click "Reload Left"
    7) Select distanceBetween node (might need to select it in the Hypershade in the Utilities tab). Click Reload Right
    9) In left column (Camera) select Translate
    10) In the right column (distanceBetween1) select point1.
    11) In View Panel, select Locator and in the Connection Editor click Reload Left
    12) In Connection editor in left column select Translate, and select point2 in the right column

What this will do is make the Depth of Field distance be at the location of the locator.
