    1080 to h264 after effects

I import my renderings. I set it to h264. Go to format options adjust the settings. In the comment box it says. "Set frame size to 1024 x 768 pixels in the Stretch options in Output Module before encoding"

So of course, I ignore that because I don't want it at 1024x768 because I rendered it at 1920x1080. Then I tell it to render. It errorss out with...

After Effects: AEGP plugin media IO plugin:

There is a mismatch between output module settings and transcode settings. Please verify your settings and try again.

Of course it renders out fine at 1024x768. But that is the wrong size and wrong aspect ratio....

I know I'm not the only one getting this...

Are you planning on outputting this to DVD? Remember that DVD will only do 720x486 (or 720x480). 1920x1080 is BluRay country and I really wouldn't suggest sending out a reel on BluRay yet - too many people without a BluRay player...

So then why so big? This meant to be a downloaded high rez file?

Bring your stuff to class tomorrow and we can look at it. It's going to be different for different versions of After Effects.

Even with a name like cgBIG, a 1920x1080 output is really large. We can look at how to export it, but that's gonna take a long long time to download.

I got it to export under quicktime then as h264. But I can't do it under h264 without the comment box telling me to resize my stuff. But if I do it as quicktime and h264 I get limited control of bit rates. This is really stupid..

no.. i'm not buying qt pro.
