  • Having Trouble Skinning my Character (Non Manifold Meshes)

I used several objects as armor and then combined the mesh together so that I could skin it. However, it keeps saying that I have "non manifold meshes" and after it's done skinning I lose everything but my base character mesh. I made sure that every object is completely closed and only has 4-sided polys, but it still acts like this. Any idea on why this is happening and how I can fix it?

Are you using Heat Maps for your Bind Method? if so, you have to have perfect, water-tight, non-combined meshes for it to work. If you don't have that sort of topology, you'll need to bind with some other type of binding (Closest Distance is as good as any of them).
