Elements of Design most present:
1. Color (Hue, Saturation, and Value)
The multiple values and hues of the colors tell the viewer where the light source is coming from.
The colors also contrast one another to help aspects stand out, such as the dark birds against the light fog rather than the dark mountain. The light, tan ground contrasts nicely against the dark grey-blue mountain so that it draws the viewers eyes down to better notice the elephants.
2. Scale
The framing and size references, such as elephants, birds, and trees help sell the gigantic mountain in the background.
This helps to make the shot more dramatic and eye-catching.
3. Composition & Space
The piece is framed to abide by the horizontal lines of the rule of thirds. The bottom and top thirds colors contrast but the middle third is lower in value as to calmly seperate them. Following this rule also helps the viewer to notice the elephants and compare them to the sheer size of the mountain in the background, which takes up most of the frame.
Not only is fog present in front of the mountain to seperate it from the area of trees and the area of elephants, but the farther away an area is, the blurrier it appears as well. The trees' ground is more desaturated and blurry than the ground of the elephants. The silhouette of the marching elephants is sharper and cleaner than those of the flocking birds because they are smaller and meant to be further back in the art piece, giving the illusion of space.Last edited by Haylee; May 7, 2019, 14:52.

Color:
The color in this photo is very sharp since it is mainly one color. It allows your eyes to wonder more freely around the photo. the people help break up the color and give the image some variance to it. The brick tiling sets in a pattern that helps with breaking up the red color and it helps with moving your eyes around the photo
Composition:
The composition in the image is very unique. The only thing in the photo is a giant brick wall, windows, and some people. This gives the image a very unrealistic feel to it almost like a game or a movie like inception. The Windows mover the viewers eyes up and down the image and it keeps the photo broken up from the other elements like color.
Scale:
Scale in this photo is very weird. It has a lower resolution yet the image looks huge because the way it was shot. the windows and composition really help sell the scale of the photo. The larger windows closer up tell you that the camera is closer to the wall, the windows in the upper left that are smaller gives the viewer a good reference to how big the building wall really is.

Color:
The colors used here of the dark shades of blue and blacks being next to the contrasting light blues and the light purple cause the viewer to focus their sights on the tree that's being prayed to. This draws your attention to the focus of the scene and enhances the intensity with the contrast given.
Space:
There is a number of Na'Vi in the scene all close and holding hands in motion. This makes the scene feel rather cluttered and full of motion. This, along with the glowing nature of the ground give the whole scene a very busy setting. This is what makes the scene feel so spacious and claustrophobic at once, everyone being so close together and shuffling along.
Line:
All of the Na'Vi are together here and are in somewhat uniform columns. This is using their heads as they are all pointing and leaning to the same direction. All guiding us to follow their motions and layout to reach the focus of the scene, the tree of voices.

Leading Lines:
In the image, the structure of the building's interior guides the viewer's eyes towards the subject, the protagonist. For example, the rails on the stairs point towards the silhouette at the bottom while the bricks on the foreground point towards the background of the shot, which points to the protagonist as well.
Scale:
The building's size is much larger than the size of the protagonist. The scale of the room compared to the figure presents a sense of overwhelmingness from the interior towering over him while also emitting a sense of uncertainty, making the protagonist feel as if he's exploring a new area.
Color:
The scene is monochrome as it only uses tints and shades of orange. The use of orange in the shot gives the viewer a sense of caution while also giving a sense of warmth. The orange also helps capture the viewer's attention while the monochromacy indicates that the area is new.

Shape: By looking at the roundedness of the object one can tell that they are eggs. The eggs are pointier towards the top and wider towards the bottom.
Line: The lines in this image help the viewer distinguish the eggs from their shadow.
Value: The value in the image show where the light is coming. It also show the position of each egg in relation to the light source because of the shadows the eggs are casting.Last edited by noarcini; May 8, 2019, 17:16.

Line:
The tower that the picture focuses around is very clearly a vertical line pointing to the sky. It leads the viewers' eyes to follow it above to the sky and observe the clouds as well. The lines also form somewhat of a triangular point at the top, giving the building a 3-Dimensional feel and look.
Scale:
The blue tower is clearly the main building in the image, made very clear by the scale. The blue tower appears significantly larger than the other buildings from the perspective the image is taken. Because of this, the viewer's attention is more likely to be directed to it than to anything else in the image.
Color:
The majority of the image is a dark blue, with bright orange lights in the bottom buildings, showing contrast in the image. This leads the viewer to not only view the large tower in the background, but also to notice the contrasting orange lights and therefore have their attention drawn to the smaller buildings towards the front, as well as the tower behind.
