  • 4/8/2020 Lecture - Modular modeling, Unreal, Blockout!

Final Edit: The video has finished it's very long processing cycle and is ready for viewing! HW due date is now Sunday before Midnight!

EDIT EDIT EDIT: Tech support said it is still processing, so check back in the morning! DUE TO THIS DUE DATE IS CHANGED FROM FRIDAY TO SUNDAY BEFORE MIDNIGHT.

EDIT EDIT: I'm in contact with tech support regarding the recording and if it's recoverable, stay tuned!

EDIT: If the video is still unavailable by end of tonight, I will create a new video and update the due date to give you more time!

Hey everyone! This one is a long one! We have nearly a two hour lecture to cover the entire process of blocking out your scene, each section, modeling tips, etc. So get a snack, some coffee and lets dive in.

**Note: Encoding and processing has been slow lately. If you are missing a play icon for the video, you will need to check back in an hour or so.

Homework is DUE SUNDAY APRIL 12th BEFORE MIDNIGHT!
    • Screenshot showing your Blockout / Graybox of your hallway using simple shapes in UE4
    • Screenshot showing your modules layed out logether. Each module section (straight section) will need a floor, wall and ceiling.
    • This is part of the planning phase for your project, this process helps make it obvious what you will need in order to complete this project.

Remember there are 5 sections of modules:
    1.Straight Modules (floor, ceiling, Wall)
2.Curved Modules (floor, ceiling, inner Wall, outer wall)
3.Corner Modules (floor, ceiling, inner Wall, outer wall)
4.Pillar/Column Module (to break up the monotony)
5.Props that seamlessly fit within Modules and that may be placed individually (to break up the monotony)
