• Frames rendering in the wrong order-->Frame Padding

There have been some questions about weird frame numbering. They end up with files that are numbered like this:

finalproject1.tif
finalproject10.tif
finalproject11.tif
finalproject12.tif
.....
This ends up causing problems when the stills are placed as a sequence in premiere, after effects or Final Cut Pro. The problem is the numbering of the frames.

The way to fix this is with Frame Padding. This setting is located in the Render Globals. The Frame Padding setting defines how many zeros are placed before the frame number for low numbered frames.

So if you have 999 frames or less, the Frame Padding should be set to "3."

This will make the frames render as

finalproject001.tif
finalproject002.tif
finalproject003.tif
...
finalproject009.tif
finalproject010.tif
finalproject011.tif
...
finalproject099.tif
finalproject100.tif
...
This will cause the final frames to all be the in the correct sequence so that they import correctly into your video editing software.
