Internships require 150 hours of work for 3 hours credit. Work beyond that is entirely your choice.
You can get a Maximum of 3 credit hours for an internship at any one place.
To be approved as an internship for academic credit, you must be working under the supervision of a professional designer with experience in your specific area of concentration (graphic design or 3D). If you are not working for a designer who can enhance your design skills, then you have a part time or freelance job but not an internship. It may be valuable, especially for your resume, but it will not be approved for academic credit.
