Im trying to make sure i understand the theory behind 3-1-1 design.It seems like a quick way of design and sale.
Theory 1: A design only phase in which all programing and building is actually done by the company in house.
Theory 2: A low cost way to get a budget concious company a respectable web presence.
Theory 3: a full design build and implement which gets the company a web presence but the process is actually a stepping stone to a larger project or a maintenance contract.
This seems like the package deals Ive seen on most design companies sales sheets.

Package 1: Fractured graphics design staff will provide a complete design focused on layout. The design would then be turned over to your in house programing staff for final completion. (a million bucks)
Package 2: Our design staff will fully design and implement a web presence suitable for your company. Upon final completion one redo will be made. All future maintenance is handled by your company. (million and a half bucks)
Package 3: Design staff will create and implement a web presence suitable for your company. Maintenance contract will be created specifing all work to be handled by our in house staff. All updates or modifications would be requested through your personal design associate.

Of course all of these are presented to the client in a fancy smancy packet/booklet focused on schmoozing the client while exposing the design.
Are any of these right or is this just the tip of the ice berg for what can be done with 3-1-1.
