i have an image im preparing for the web and I want the background to be transparent (its a gradient). Im saving for web as a gif and transparency is checked but the background is still white. it works if i chose dithered or one of those options but then theres more noise in the image that there should be. Am i forgetting about any other options or leaving a step out?? help pls, thanks!

Are you doing this in Photoshop or Illustrator? Alpha channels or clipping paths?

        GIF doesn't support semi-transparent pixels.

What's this for? Save it as a PNG and you should be fine with most browsers.
