movement problem

I'm having some problems modelling my scene.
I'll work for a little bit, and then it seems like the tools lock up. I'll try to select something else but when I click, it starts moving what I already have selected.
If I save, then it'll let me select something else, but then it locks up again.

This was happening in JB108 and now it's doing it on my home computer.
I have my file open from my external HD, could that be my problem?

Hmmm....that sounds really strange; i've never seen that happen before. you might try copying to your HD and working from there although I'm doubtful that that would be the issue.

Does it happen at random times or does it happen at times that you've just worked with a certain object?

yeah, it was happening all the time, but I copied everything over to my desktop and it worked fine.

I guess the computers I've used don't like pulling things off of a USB HD.
