    Can anyone tell me how to clear the timeline? I have deleted the key frames in the graph editor and the timeline still shows the key frame “red” marks.

    there are several ways...

    (1) in the graph editor you can select TranslateX, Y, and Z on the left panel then go to edit > delete
    (2) hold down shift and LMB select the area of the time slider where you want to delete keys, then right click the red highlighted area and select delete
    (3) open the channel editor (same side bar where the layer editor is, and LMB select the channels (on the left side, not the right side where values are endterd), the channel names should be highlighted in black - from there go to channels > break connections
    (4) in the attribute editor under transform attributes (located on the transform node's tab) - RMC on any values highlighted and select 'break connections'

    LMB = Left mouse button
    RMB = right mouse button
