Hey...I put Direct-x 9 on my computer and the interface in maya looks bad. parts of things show through when they aren't supposed to. When I rotate and zoom it causes the edges to flicker and be jagged. I would recommend against this update. I installed it on my computer that has an Elsa Gloria II and also it did the same thing on my laptop that has a GeForce4 440 Go. Both of them are NVidia cards...so maybe that has something to do with it.

    Jenny,

Maya shouldn't use DirectX...it's OpenGL based. So my guess is that the install might have confused your video card drivers. Have you checked NVidia to make sure your cards are running the absolute latest drivers?

Yeah I had just re-installed the OS on both my computer and my laptop...and I updated all of the drivers. Installed DX9 on both and it was all messed up. So I re-installed the OS on my laptop again...and only installed DX8.1 and it works fine. So I did the same for my big comp and now they both work great. I don't understand...Justin installed it and it worked fine on his. Maybe it is because I installed Maya first and then DX9...He did it in the other order...I will try it out again when I get a chance. I even opened Maya first looked at it, then installed it and it went crappy...maybe it didn't like the new drivers. Not a big deal though. Thanks
