  • Early evening interior scene

Could someone please give me some feedback on this and explain how to create numerous shadows. Thank you.

there are harsh shadows, one method is to make lights that simply light the surface but dont cast a shadow. Another is to just make more lights that cast shadows or dont cast them on the opposite end of the shadow

Multiple shadows come from multiple light sources (that are also casting shadows). It appears that you only have one light in the scene casting shadows. Turn some other shadows on (and take special care to work the the Dmap resolution) and you'll get multiple shadows.

As far as the scene goes, the biggest problem is that its unclear where the key light (the main light) is coming from. If it were really during the day, the strongest light would be coming in through the windows. Which would mean that the shadows thatt the couch was casting wouldn't be behind the couch - they'd be on the side of the couch opposite the windows.

I'd also look really closely at those windows and really closely at your research. Most windows (especially palladian windows like that) have a frame around them. Your windows there have the transoms and mullions just going into the wall.
