  • Problems with mesh

Right now, the ear doesnt seem to want to smooth. So far it seems that there are normals that are fliped, but there arent faces that are flatten together. However, even when I try to reverse the normals, it still doesnt smooth. Also, for some reason Im getting this odd artifact problem with the mesh as well, need help!!!

      suggestions:

I had a problem like yours with my ear

-are you sure the vertices are merged?

-next select all polygons and click on edit polygons>Normals>Set to Face (on the low poly version)

-after doing this check to see which way all polygons are facing.

-if the ear polygons are still inverted then click on edit polygons>Normals>conform while in object mode

-now check to see which direction the polygons conformed to (you might have to reverse the direction of all normals next)

-do a smooth proxy from that low poly version and see if the problem is fixed
